No, data protection is a key priority for us and our clients. Each client gets a dedicated workspace that is separated and protected from other users.

Yes, all company data that you store in Catalist can be downloaded to .xlsx for further review and analysis. We have a limit of 1000 companies per month per user.

No, we do not offer an API. Most of our clients use Catalist as their aggregation platform that can handle other APIs. We might develop our own API in the future, but this is not a priority for now.

We do not focus on specific geographies and Catalist can deal with any web-based source of information that you’d like to include. If you’re looking to search specifically for new companies using our database out-of-the-box, we are strongest in Europe & North America.

We currently have more than 9.2 million company profiles in the database. Most of them are from our patent database (3.5 million) after which Crunchbase (3.1 million) and GitHub (1.5 million).

With Catalist you can build your own database of companies. Credits are used to enrich the company profiles with data from external data providers, our keyword-based web-scraper and AI agent. The amount of credits needed can vary per type of data request. For most users the included credits prove to be plenty!

We do not focus on specific sectors and gather companies from all sectors.

You can best use Catalist to gather company data. We have dedicated fields for basic company information such as descriptions, employees, founding year as well as more advanced fields such as financial and funding data. On top of that, Catalist allows you to create custom data fields based on any companies website using AI or keyword search.

Catalist gathers data from a variety of databases and sources. We have an API with databases including Crunchbase and GitHub. Additionally, we scrape Twitter tweets by topic on a continuous basis and nearly 2000 websites that contain company lists. With Catalist Deal Sourcing you can add & scrape webpages as sources for your account and let Catalist create company profiles.
